Sweet lady, are you struggling too? Another day has passed and you have accumulated more hurt, worry, stress and hopelessness than the weeks and months before. You can’t seem to remember how you got here. But there you lie restless on the floor.
Heart and soul completely naked and revealed, but altogether impressionably unrequited!
What have you become? Surely, nothing of this was the plans that you had for yourself? Certainly, this is not what God had destined for your life?
You wonder how can you continue on. How can you overcome?
But darling, don’t you know who you are?
•Your worth is “far more than rubies!”
•Your very being is made in the “image and likeness of God!”
•You are seated in heavenly places with Christ!
•You are the BRIDE!
You may have forgotten the truth of who you were created to be among all of the pain, lies and messiness of who the enemy schemingly led you to believe yourself to be! Or maybe you never had the chance to hear of just how significant your role is as the Daughter of the King! So humbly, I’ll present to you what Christ has sacredly intended over your life!
Marriage was created to physically, spiritually and emotionally reflect and exemplify the love between the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and the love between Christ and His Church!
Scripture tells us:
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her! Ephesians 5:25-26
Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything. Ephesians 5:22-23
What do these Sacred Truths tell us?
1)We are created to receive LIFE and to give LIFE in return!!
2)We were gifted our Bridegroom so that we MIGHT be made holy! This gift of Christ was given to us FREELY and without expectation of anything in return! But that we MIGHT turn our feminine hearts toward our beloved and give ourselves back to Him in return! That is LOVE!! Sacrificial LOVE!
3) We are to submit to our husbands as we do to Christ! Sounds a little too overbearing?
Sweet lady, this is where it’s at!!! Let me explain! “Sub” means to be under! Moreover, “mission” means calling or vocational! To SUBMIT to our husbands is to simply and humbly support his role and his MISSION to Christ! What is your Husband’s mission? To love as Christ loves the Church! His mission is to LOVE YOU and our Savior!
This is who you are! Created for love! Created as a GIFT! Daughter of the King! A reflection of the Father’s love to his Beloved, Christ!
Ephesians paints the most beautiful illustration of marriage and Christ’s love for us!
But why is marriage so messy and hard?! Why doesn’t your story feel exemplary of this beauty?
Let’s chat about Chapter Six in Ephesians. Just a few verses down from our description and role as Bride is the powerful depiction of the “Armor of God!”
I don’t think it is a coincidence that Paul authored these two messages from God SO close together!
As wives we are to battle for our family! SUPPORTING our husbands in prayer! Being on guard and watchful of the enemy who will try to slip into our marriage to kill, steal and destroy the very thing that God created to EXEMPLIFY HIM!!
The Enemy wants us to believe we are unworthy, unloved, purposeless, fearful, forgotten, unheard, mistaken, misused, unrequited, unwanted and powerless! Because if we give into his lies and schemes, we cannot activate our Armor that enables us to fulfill our role as Bride!
Dear sister, remember who you are! Remember that you are the most precious creature that God created, saving the very best for last! The one who He destined to be as the “Help Meet” and in support of the MISSION of what we were created to accomplish!
Stand Firm in your position!
Ready your sword!
You are the Bride of Christ.
A force to be reckoned with!
The Armor of God
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
